It looks as though Double Fine went all-out this PAX, with new trailers and playable demos for both of their upcoming games – Costume Quest 2 and Massive Chalice.

Costume Quest 2, the sequel to 2010’s Costume Quest, was shown with a short gameplay trailer which serves one purpose: to show that Costume Quest 2 will stay as true to its predecessor, only bigger and better. It will have more costumes, more moves and a revised and more engaging combat system.

We’ll once again be following the adventure of twins Wren and Reynold as another Halloween begins… and who knows how it’ll end. See the trailer below:

The second showing by Double Fine this PAX was, of course, Massive Chalice (MASSIVE CHALICE, rather). MASSIVE CHALICE is a brand-new, Kickstarter-backed IP which lets you play the immortal (yet throne-bound) ruler of a nation as you try to lead it through a war with a force known as “Cadence”. The war will last hundreds of years and it is your job as a ruler to see your nation through. Below is a long demo of the game, with commentary by the game’s project lead, Brad Muir.

Costume Quest 2 will arrive in time for Halloween 2014 on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC, while MASSIVE CHALICE will release in September on a shorter platform list – PC and Xbox One.
