Supermassive Games has re-announced Until Dawn – the horror title it has been working on for the last few years. Since the game was first unveiled at Gamescom 2012, it has made the transition from first to third person perspective and has found a new home on Sony’s new-gen console – PlayStation 4.

According to a blog post by Supermassive’s Pete Samuels, the dev team has “re-designed, re-built” and re-wrote” the game to have darker and more mature themes than those we first saw to years ago.

In Until Dawn, the player will take control of eight friends on a remote mountain getaway. But as these things usually go, the group quickly realize that they are not alone up on the snowy mountain, and must survive  against a deranged killer – get this – until dawn.

Every choice you as a player make, no matter how small or trivial, will have dire consequences later in the game and might even decide who lives and who dies. Not everyone will be walking down the mountain come morning…

Until Dawn is a PS4 exclusive and will be released at an undisclosed date.

And yes, Until Dawn was the mysterious title Sony teased just before Gamescom rolled around.
