The Evil Within has received a new release date, and for once it is not a delay. The third-person horror title will be released on October 14, which is one week before its previous release date of October 21.

The news came from Bethesda marketing VP Pete Hines, who took to the stage at QuakeCon 2014.

The game was originally intendedfor an August release, but was delayed so Tango Gameworks can refine it. Apparently, The Evil Within shows some progress and Bethesda has enough faith in Shinji Mikami and his team to bring the game forward.

The Evil Within will be available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and PC.
