Crackdown for the Xbox One will continue the franchise’s tradition of drop-in, drop-out cooperative play, but this time it will be even more seamless than before. Apparently there will be very little separating single-player and mutliplayer.
In the original Crackdown and Crackdown 2, players were able to easily start playing together, but they still had to go through several menus and even wait a bit (good lord!). That will no longer be the case.
Talking with OXM, Microsoft Game Studios creative director Ken Lobb said “Crackdown was on of the first drop-in, drop-out co-op games, but we’re going more towards ‘there’s just the game.
“You’re playing the game, it’s single, it’s co-op, it’s a mash-up. Choose at will in the game, instead of hiding behind menus and loads and lobbies. Just make the gameplay as if it’s one big thing.”
If you missed the announcement during Microsoft’s E3 media event, Crackdown on Xbox One continues the story after the original game, but offers a different take then Crackdown 2. Below you will find the GCI announcement trailer, showing three agents working together to bring down a mob boss.
