Dying light will miss its 2014 release window, developer Techland has announced. It seems like the developer needs a little more time to work on the zombie parkour title to improve the parkour part.

“When we started the development of Dying Light, we were committed to innovation,” said the developer in the official announcement. “We wanted to give you a freedom of movement unprecedented in open world games. After many improvements and months of hard work, we have now come so close to realizing our initial vision we feel we cannot stop before it is ready.

“We believe the Natural Movement element of our game will change what you expect from the genre, and we don’t want to sacrifice any of its potential by releasing too early. This quality-focused thinking underlines all our development choices and we hope you share our belief that the gameplay must always come first.”

But not all is dark. Dying Light will once again be present at E3 this year, and Techland has already promised to reveal new features and aspects during, and after, the convention.

Dying Light is currently scheduled for February 2015, on the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
