EA will not release a new game in the Need for Speed franchise during fiscal year 2015 (started April 1, 2014 and ending March 31, 2015). This means a new Need for speed game will not be released in 2014.

The news were revealed by EA CEO Andrew Wilson during a financials cal to the company’s investors. Wilson said that EA has decided to give Ghost Games, the franchise’s current caretaker, an “extended development window to ensure a high quality experience for NFS players next year.”

Wilson has confirmed that Ghost Games are already working on the next NFS title, saying “Ghost Games is working on innovative new chapter of the franchise.”

This contradicts a previous report claiming Ghost Games are helping Visceral Games with a new Battlefield game, codenamed Havana.

Whichever the case may be, I’m sure will hear something about it in EA’s E3 press event, on May 9. GamersPack will be there to give you all the Ea coverage you can possibly want.
