A group of industry veterans has banded together to form the new indie studio Tangentlemen.
The new studio is comprised of Toby Gard, creator of the original Tomb Raider; Rich Smith, an artist who worked on the Call of Duty MW series; John Garcia-Shelton, developer on both Medal of Honor and Call of Duty games; Cory Davis, the creative director on Spec Ops: The Line.
“The rocketing costs of AAA development led to a creative stagnation in games until the recent explosion of the indie scene,” said co-creative director Toby Gard. “We have formed Tangentlemen to take some creative risks and trust our belief that there is an audience who want fun experiences that don’t fall comfortably inside predefined marketing boxes.”
Tangentlemen’s first project is an “existential, surreal horror trip” which their are calling Daedalus.
