Tactical RPGs are a thing of rarity these days, and someone finally took notice. The mind behind Vagrant Story and Final Fantasy Tactics, Yasumi Matsuno, kicked off a campaign on kickstarter last month, under the name of Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians.

Being a spiritual successor for the aforementioned titles, the game will be a true tactical RPG, where battles will be taken in turns on 3D maps.

The story will revolve a 77 year war, where the player takes the role of several characters, spanning the same 77 years. Some characters will tell us their side of the story across one year, some will do it across a decade, with each subsequent chapter relating to the one before it.

Now, a month later, the goal has be achieved, and developer Playdek has issued a Thank You letter to all 15,824 backers who raised $660,126.

Until the game releases in 2015 for PC, Mac, iOS and Android, you can check all about the game on its Kickstarter page and website. You can also watch the Kickstarter video below.
