Paradox Interactive, known mostly for developing grand strategy games, is trying its hand at an RPG. Based of Norse Mythology, RuneMaster is Paradox’s first attempt. See the teaser trailer below.
RuneMaster will have “procedural maps and quests” that will ensure each playthrough is different and fresh, so players can “tell a saga that is uniquely their own,” the company stated.
The game’s champion will explore the six worlds of Norse myth (Midgard, Asgard, Vanahiem, Jotunheim, Alfheim and Hel), lead troops in tactical combat, and make character-defining choices.
“We’re always playing RPGs in our spare time and discovering new things we love about them as a game genre; it was only natural that sooner or later we’d have to design our own,” said studio manager Johan Andersson. “RuneMaster is the result, and we know our fans will love it.”
Since RuneMaster is still in early development stages, no release date was given. Probably not in 2014.
