After teasing it for just a short while, Frictional Games has released a first live-action teaser trailer for SOMA – the studio’s next title. As was expected, the trailer is somewhat creepy, but doesn’t reveal a whole lot about the game. For a teaser, the trailer is fairly long, but watch it below anyway.
So apparently we are dealing with a bleak sci-fi game with a strange machine (not one meant for pigs). The short description that came with the video references to case file number 2656, titled “Vivarium”. Reading further, we learn about this machine with “the appearance of a heavily modified monitor fixed to a massive nest of cables and controls,” found by Machinist Peter Strasky during a salvage mission.
The woman in the trailer is Engineer Imogen Reed, who asked for permission to study the machine in quarantine. As we can see, she doesn’t like what she finds. Stay tuned for more videos to come.
