According to Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony’s worldwide studios, The Last Guardian is still being worked on by Team ICO, though Sony is now waiting for the right time to “reintroduce” it.
“The team is still there in SCE Japan Studio, [Fumito] Ueda-san is still there, but we are still waiting for the time to reintroduce it.” Yoshida told Game Informer during the 2013 Tokyo Game Show.
Creative director Fumito Ueda has made similar claims earlier this year, as he reassured us that the game is still in development under his supervision.
The Last Guardian was first announced as a PS3 exclusive, but maybe this “reintroduction” business means it has moved on to the PS4 as well. We’ll just have to wait and see (we’re used to it by now).
