SteelSeries has taken advantage of our collective focus on Gamescom 2013 and unveiled a new addition to its Siberia lineup of audio products – The Siberia Elite Headset.

Equipped with realistic 7.1 virtual surround sound, retractable microphone and touch audio controls to adjust volume and mute the microphone, Siberia Elite marks the next generation of audio in gaming. The new headset also sports extra-large memory foam ear cushions and SteelSeries’ “signature Siberia self-adjusting suspension system.”

The Siberia Elite will be available on both black or white frame and 16.8 million colors of illumination, thanks to the new SteelSeries Engine 3. In addition to the multitude of colors to choose from, the SteelSeries Engine 3 will let users set their own 10-band equalizer settings and activate multiple microphone features, such as  noise-cancelling and compression.

If you get bored with fiddling with all these options, you can always use the new engine to set your headset to pulsate with different colors and different speeds in unison with the game’s sound, or engage ColorShift mode that goes through a series of preset colors.  It will keep you busy for hours.

“Siberia is recognized today as one of the fastest growing and highly rated line of headsets by consumers from around the globe,” said Bruce Hawver, SteelSeries CEO.

“Expanding upon this legacy, today we introduce the next level of Siberia audio combining the acclaimed features, which makes the Siberia brand successful, with the newest and highest-quality audio technology and software that can truly be categorized as Elite.”

The SteelSeries Siberia Elite is $199.99 and will be available for pre-order starting in September 2013.
