The Evil Within director and horror guru Shinji Mikami has hinted at planning on introducing an online component to his new game via DLC. Hinted might be too strong a word for it, but there you have it.
When asked by OXM about implementing an online feature similar to that of Dark Souls – i.e. letting other players influence your game world – , Mikami simply said “Yeah, maybe in DLC. I guess we can’t really get into details.” Details? What details? Tell us!
So far we know The Evil Within is a single-player focused horror game. Is Shinji Mikami planning to add an online mode after the game’s release, or is it all just wild speculation? Hopefully we’ll know soon.
