Irrational Games has revealed today the first story DLC for the Bioshock Infinite, titled Burial at Sea. Fans of the franchise (especially the first game) will be happy to learn that Burial at Sea brings Booker Dewitt to the underwater city of Rapture, where he meets a different, grown-up version of Elizabeth.
The first episode of the watery DLC starts on December 31, 1958. Bioshock scholars surely already know that 1959 was the year in which the undersea utopia began to crumble. Could Booker and Elizabeth has anything to do with Rapture’s terrible fate? We’ll know soon enough.
The studio was also announced a second Infinite DLC, called Clash in the Clouds. This one is an action-packed content that “presents players with a series of unique, intense challenges and a whole new gambit of combat opportunities.” This one isn’t story-related, but will appeal to gamers who enjoy a good challenge against waves of tough enemies. The trailer below gives more details.
Clash in the Clouds is available today on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC for $4.99 / £3.69 / 400 MS Points. Both episodes of Burial at Sea will cost $14.99 / £9.99 / 1200 Microsoft Points each.
“We are really excited to offer our fans the content that they have been asking for,” said creative director Ken Levine. “With Clash in the Clouds, people get a pure action experience that takes BioShock Infinite combat to its highest challenge and intensity level. With the Burial at Sea episodes, we are building a Rapture-based narrative experience that is almost entirely built from scratch.”
Here are the two trailers for the two new DLC packs. Which one are you planning on playing?
