It seems that Battlefield 4 and Star Wars: Battlefront just aren’t enough for DICE, and the studio is also working on a reboot for the first-person “parkourer” Mirror’s Edge.
“We introduced Mirror’s Edge and Faith to gamers five years ago, and we’ve waited for the right moment to reunite them,” said Sara Jansson, Senior Producer at DICE. “Thanks to the Frostbite engine and a new generation of platforms, we are now able to deliver a richer world that players will be able to explore with a new level of freedom in both movement and action.”
With a whole new origins story for heroine Faith, the new Mirror’s Edge seems to capture the original’s unique visual style thanks to the new and impressive Frostbite 3 engine.
Mirror’s Edge is a next title, and will be coming out on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC “when it’s ready”.
