In a more interesting twist, it seems that the folk at Arkane aren’t so thrilled about the idea of continuing another studio’s work. To solve this conflict, higher-up from within the studio has instructed to dev team to “forget that it’s called Prey 2 and just treat it like a new System Shock”.
That means that the Prey 2 we previously saw at E3 2011 is probably gone, as Arkane Studios scrapped all the work made by Human Head Studios and started pretty much from scratch.
Other rumors suggest that Bethesda has being shopping the game around from quite some time. The publisher has tried to work with both Obsidian (Fallout: New Vegas) and Rebellion (NeverDead) in order to complete Prey 2, but the deal fell through both times.
Bethesda has refused to confirm or deny this (or any other) rumor, so the fate of Prey 2 is still unknown. It is doubtful we’ll hear anything about it at E3 this year, so you’ll just have to be patient and wait for Bethesda to reveal new information when the time is right, whenever that may be.Some of our posts include links to online retail stores.
