Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon isn’t a new DLC for Ubisoft’s Far Cry 3. According to the game’s official page on the Xbox Live Marketplace, it is a standalone title headed for Xbox Live Arcade this May.
Blood Dragon is being described as a “Kick-Ass Cyber Shooter taking place on a bizarre open-world island crawling with evil.” The player is agent Rex Colt, a Mark IV Cyber Commando who came to the island to fight a cyborg army gone rogue, get the girl and save the world.
The game’s visual style is inspired by the 80’s VHS era vision of a dystopian future, “where cyborgs, blood dragons, mutants, and Michael Biehn (Terminator, Aliens, Navy Seals) collide.”
This being a standalone title, you won’t need a copy of the original Far Cry 3 to play Blood Dragon. So if you like what you read above and what you see below, check out Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon on XBLA (and possibly other platforms to be revealed later) when it arrives on May 1.
