Supergiant Games, the studio who brought us Bastion, has announced the next game it has been working on – a science-fiction-themed action RPG titled Transistor. You’ll find the reveal trailer below.

According to the official announcment, Transistor will integrate strategic  planning and fast-paced action, as well as the studio’s “signature melding of responsive gameplay and rich atmospheric storytelling”. Here’s a short description of the game’s plot and settings:

In Transistor, players assume the role of a young woman who gains control of a powerful weapon after a mysterious group of assailants nearly kills her with it. Now she must fight from street to street against forces that will stop at nothing to recover the weapon. During the course of the adventure, players will piece together the Transistor’s mysteries as they pursue its former owners.

If Transistor caught your attention and you’re planning on attending PAX East this weekend, Supergiant has promised an early build of the game will be playable in booth #892.

Transistor is expected to arrive in early 2014 on whichever platforms the studio will decided till then.
