The Darkstalkers franchise is making a sort of comeback on current-gen consoles, with a re-release of two classic titles from the series under the name of Darkstalkers Resurrection.

Capcom has announced that both Night Warriors: Darkstalkers Revenge and Darkstalkers 3 will be included in Resurrection, with modern-day HD graphics, in-game achievements and the ability to share replays online (even via Youtube). For online play against friends or strangers, Darkstalkers Resurrection offers a “virtually lag-free fighting game experience,” with upgraded matchmaking options.

A new challenge mode will help newcomers and veterans alike to master each of the many characters’ moves and strategies, while unlocking new bonus items like concept art of videos. Players will also be able to learn how to play by watching experienced fighters online in spectator mode.

Darkstalkers Resurrection is scheduled for early 2013 on XBLA and PSN. Check out the announcement trailer and screenshots below.
