During a presentation of the new Fox Engine today (the 25th Anniversary of the Metal Gear Solid), Hideo Kojima has revealed a brand new open-world game titled Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. The new game is rumored to star Big Boss (Naked Snake) and to take place during or after the 1970’s.

Videos were forbidden during the presentation, but according to several sources the 20 minute long demo, which ran real-time on a high-end PC using the Fox Engine, showed Snake crawling in the rain to avoid detecting, killed a man stealthily and then jumped into a jeep to radio for evac. Gamespot has a more detailed look of the demo, if you’re interested.

Although we’ll probably have to wait some time before we can actually see the demo in action, two screens from the game did find their way onto the net. You can see them below. No release window was given for Ground Zeroes, nor any information about its intended platforms. We’ll bring you more details as they become available, so keep in touch.
