Two weeks ago there was a rumor going on that Square Enix is planning to re-release Final Fantasy VII on the PC. Today we learned that this rumor was indeed true.

A new website went up, detailing some of the new features this PC version will have, including achievements, online capabilities, cloud saves (cloud saves… very amusing Squenix) and a character booster mechanic that will “increase your HP, MP and Gil levels to their maximum, all with the simple click of a button.”

There isn’t an official release date yet, but we do know the game will be coming out exclusively via the Square Enix store in US and Europe in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.

The minimum requirements for the new FFVII PC version are:

  • Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7 (32/64-bit)
  • 2GHz Processor or faster
  • 1GB RAM
  • DirectX 9-compatible graphic card
