Bigpoint (Battlestar Galactica Online) and HBO are teaming together to create a free-to-play, browser-based MMO based on the TV series Game of Thrones (which is based on the A Song of Ice and Fire books, we know… we know…). It will be titled Seven Kingdoms.
“Selecting a game’s title can be quite an arduous process, especially in the free-to-play space where games must be easily discoverable by players around the world,” said Max Pfaff, Producer, Bigpoint.
“By selecting Game of Thrones Seven Kingdoms we’re confident that we’ve chosen an identifiable name that will resonate with the global community of diehard Thrones fans,” he added.
Seven Kingdoms is set in Westeros just after (SPOILER ALERT!) king Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark die horribly (End of Spoilers). Players will be encouraged to form alliances. enjoy PvP and Siege combat, and indulge in politics to control Westeros.
A first gameplay trailer of the game will be showing at San Diego Comic-Con.
