Nintendo has announced that the new Super Smash Bros game for the Wii U and the 3DS is being developed by Namco Bandai in collaboration with Project Sora (Kid Icarus: Uprising).
According to Namco Bandai producer Masaya Kobayashi, the game’s development team is made up of the same people who brought us the Soulcalibur and Tekken franchises.
No official release date has been given, and it seems like we won’t be getting on any time soon, since the project is still in very early stages of development. It may also take a while till Nintendo and Namco Bandai decided to show any footage from the new Super Smash Bros.
“The project has just gotten started. Bear in mind that not only are we developing two titles simultaneously, but we announced the project before we even started actual development, so I’m afraid we will likely have to keep you waiting for quite a while,” said Masahiro Sakurai, director of the Super Smash Bros series.
