Overstrike, Insomniac’s four players co-op first person shooter, was mysteriously missing for this year’s E3. EA Labels president Frank Gibeau explained CVG exactly why.

“It’s a new IP and we want to make it the right game, so they’re taking some extra time to nail the gameplay and the quality,” said Gibeau. It seems like Insomniac need a little more time to polish off the game before showing in to the public.

“It felt like we would stand out better later in the summer once we’ve hit some key milestones and we’re able to show off more.” So in case you’ve been waiting since last year to see some actual footage from the game, you’ll have to wait just a little bit longer – probably till Gamescom this August.

As was mentioned before, Overstrike was first announced by Insomniac at last year’s E3, and since than disappeared off the radar completely. Below is the game’s announcement trailer from E3 2011, if by any chance you missed it.
