Yves Guillemot, head of Ubisoft, has confirmed that Watch Dogs will be released on current generation consoles, as well as on the PC. Because of its impressive looking graphics it was speculated the game is intended for next-gen technology.
It was also revealed via an interview on Destructoid that Watch Dogs will have an iPad app that which can help the player during the game. The iPad app will present the player with an isometric map of Chicago, where characters with hacked decives will appear in real time, allow the player to follow their movements and even gain continuous information flow.
Players will also be able to scout out different areas with the iPad before entering them in the game, offering a tactical advantage.
The “really fun aspect” of the app is that you can check out what your friends are doing in their game in real-time. You see their mission logs and statue, and even offer to help if they seem to be stuck; or if you rather be a dick about it, you can interfere with their game. For example, you could hack into a traffic light in their game and try to cause an accident.
Don’t worry though; friends will be able to influance your game if you gave them permission to do so.
Watch Dogs will be available at a later unknown date on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
