Warner Bros. has announced a new Kinect exclusive Harry Potter game, developed by Eurocom. The game takes place in Hogwarts (where else) and spans the entire seven year period when Harry and his friends discovered The Chamber of Secrets, entered the Triwizard Tournament, Joined the Order of the Phoenix, and fought You-Know-Who.
The selling point of the game (besides experiencing the books and movies via Kinect) is the ability to scan your face and enter Hogwarts as an actual student, and follow the gang on its adventures. There are also a bunch of mini-games, both competitive and co-operative, in the game, for when you need a break from your wizardry studies.
“Harry Potter for Kinect will engage Harry Potter fans old and new by bringing them into the wizarding world as truly active participants,” said Samantha Ryan, a Senior Vice President at Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
“Kids and parents will enjoy recreating their favorite Harry Potter adventures, from flying a broomstick in a Quidditch match, to battling pixies and duelling other wizards. ”
You can see some of these adventures (and the face-scaning feature) in the announcement trailer below. Just don’t expect great-looking graphics or anything like that.
