First of all, I would like each and every one of you to reflect on what a horrible and depraved person they are for not playing Double Fine’s Psychonauts (if you did, my apologies). You should all be ashamed. This whimsical third-person platfromer is one of my personal favorite games of all times, and one of the most original games to be developed in the last decade. Now back to the issue at hand.

As a follow-up to his previous interview with Digital Spy, Tim Schafer (Psychonauts’ creator) has revealed that he’s pitched Psychonauts 2 “several times” to different publishers, but to no avail. “I’d love to do that game, but I’d have to convince someone to just give me a few million dollars, that’s all.” said schafer.

Well, apparently there is someone out there who would love to do just that. Markus “Notch” Persson, the mastermind behind the successful Minecraft, has heard about Schafer’s plight, and twitted his offer: “Let’s make Psychonauts 2 happen.”

Tim Schafer has yet to replay to this generous offer, so we can only wait and cross our fingers in hope we will one day get to play Psychonauts 2.
