“Aliens: Colonial Marines is a process of creativity and invention and those don’t necessarily follow the structure of an assembly line,” said a Sega representative in a statement given to Game Informer. This statement came as a response for Sega’s recent announcement it is delaying Gearbox Software’s Aliens: Colonial Marines until fall 2012.

The representative continued and said “While setting clear goals, deadlines and predictions is helpful, they are often subjective. We don’t want to sacrifice the creative process just for the sake of following a blue print. We prefer to have the creative discovery shape that blue print because our goal is to make a great game, and we are prioritizing this goal over the previously targeted date.”

The sci-fi horror first-person shooter was originally set for a spring release on the XBOX 360, PS3, PC and the WiiU, but now it seems like we’ll have to wait a bit longer to get our hands dirty with acidic alien blood.
