A few days ago, Capom revealed the next game in the action/horror series, Resident Evil, going by the name of Operation Raccoon City. The game allows for up to four players to join the ranks of Umbrella’s (the evil corporation responsible for all the zombies) private army and recreate the events of Resident Evil 2 and 3 from the point of view of an elite execution squad.

The game is being developed by Slant Six, which have been responsible for the SOCOM games in the last several years, probably meaning that the game will have more of an emphasis on action, tactic and team play, and less on the horror aspect of the game.

The latest trailer of the game grants us several more gameplay scenes and introduces the four characters the players will be able to charge of, each with its own uniqueness. In addition there are scenes showing the unit battling zombies (obviously), soldiers and even a Tyrant, an advanced biological weapon of the Umbrella Corporation. Even Leon, the protagonist of Resident Evil 2 and 4 return to play a role in the game, but this time as a target for execution (so if he annoyed you in RE4, you might get the chance to pay him his dues).

The game will be released in winter of 2011 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC
