Qualcomm, in association with Big PlayAR, are working with an NBA team, the Dallas Maverick, in order to add a twist to the NBA games series. They’re going to bring player cards to life using the Augmented Reality technology and the Android OS. The basketball fan will simply download the app to his android device; look at his player card using the device’s camera and will see the card come to life!
Founder and CEO of Big PlayAR, John Robinson: “Some of us still keep our tickets in scrap books, so imagine the fun of bringing your scrap book to life as well.”
In order to have the fans take notice of this new app, Qualcomm are going to setup “AR Phone Zones” at American Airlines Center, in the Maverick’s first game of the season taking place today.
