Recently it was revealed that THQ, the company behind Metro 2033 which was released in 2010, acquired several new domain names which might imply at the new name for the next title in the series. The domain names that appear in a tweet by @supererogatory are: metrolastlight.com; lastlightgame.com; metro2033lastlight.com
It’s easy to assume from these names that the title won’t be called Metro 2034 as previously speculated, but Metro 2033: Last Light. It is still unclear if we’re talking about a full fledged sequel or maybe just an expansion for the existing game. What is certain is that if we will see a sequel it will be sometime in the next two years, as was already disclosed in the past by THQ representatives.
Metro 2033 takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where the residents of Moscow are forced to live in the city’s underground train tunnels in order to survive the nuclear winter taking place on the surface. The game was released in 2010 for the PC and Xbox 360.
