Google have tweeted us a reminder about their Near Field Communication (or NFC for short) technology, which is available in their Nexus S. This technology allows the device to read information stored on a chip which can be imbedded in shirts, stickers, calling cards, keys and basically anything that comes to mind – and it does not require a power source. The catch here is that the distance between the device and the chip needs to be no greater than four centimeters for the device to successfully read the information off the chip.
What is this good for, you may ask? Maybe for a game of treasure hunting.
