Slightly Mad Studios has revealed Project Cars 2 will be released around September, or “Septemberish” as studio CEO Ian Bell puts it.
“It’s still a very tight run as we’re a bit behind on GUI and Career so nothing is set in stone yet. Current guess is Septemberish,” Bell wrote in a recent forum post. On a different thread, Bell mentions that “None of the famous brands are missing this time”, addressing fans’ disappointment that the original Project Cars did not include makers like Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini.
We know that the sequel will feature co-op and other new game modes like Rallycross.
Project Cars 2 was first announced in 2015 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Just like its predecessor, the game is being crowdfunded and developed with constant feedback from the community. Hopefully we’ll get to see some real gameplay footage real soon.
